Welcome to the Weight Benches page, a weight bench is very useful if you like lifting weights but want to go a bit further than using dumbbells, using a weight bench is a nice cheap way of lifting heavier weights without the need of an expensive multi-gym. Weight benches are quite cheap but you have to remember that most do not include any weights, you simply get the weight bench and have to buy your weights separately.

The important aspect of a weight bench is the amount of weight lifting exercises that it offers, this means that you can target more muscle groups and have more variety in your weight lifting. Also look for a weight bench that is adjustable so that you can alter the position of the back rest and the weights as this is very useful for finding the most comfortable position when using the weight bench. Disc locking collars and barbell retention hooks are also important as they provide safer weight lifting.

The weights that you buy for your weight bench are an important consideration, you will need weight plates and bars. The weight plates are the round weights that you attach to the bars or weight attachments of the weight bench, they usually come in sets with lots of different weights so that you can use just the right amount of weight with your weight bench. The sets also usually include a large bar for use as the main weight for use in the weight bench and also often come with some dumbbells so you can have lots of weight lifting options.

When using the weight bench you should use slow, controlled lifts and do not lift weights that are too heavy and instead build up the weight that you lift gradually.
